Message from the Superintendent…


cynthiaThank you for your interest in Grand Rapids Ellington Academy of Arts & Technology. Ellington Academy offers an integrated performing arts/technology and college-ready academic curriculum for students Pre-K through 12th grades.

Are you enthusiastic about learning in an academic environment that promotes the uniqueness and creativity of every student? If so, Ellington Academy invites you to explore our website to learn more about the first and finest performance arts and technology Charter Academy in West Michigan. Our arts-integrated college ready curriculum is researched based with proven success to increase academic performance and to prepare students for college.

Ellington Academy has maintained at 94% attendance persistence rate. You will enjoy the learning culture at Ellington Academy, whereby academic rigor is complimented with exploratory courses that provide opportunities for student-artists to develop a digital newspaper, design creative and mix-media art projects, as well as experiential learning in our dance studio, recording studio and state-of-the art Technology Media Center.

Learning is extended outside of the classroom through experiential learning year round with arts-related organizations like the Grand Rapids Symphony, Grand Rapids Arts Museum, Broadway Grand Rapids, Mind Meets Music and the YMCA. Our summer “SLAM” (Summer Learning And More) activities keeps students engaged, learning and enhancing academic and performing arts/technology skills through the Mic Check camps, college campus visits, and or character development programs Beauty U and Distinguished Gentlemen Camps.

Perhaps you would like to become an Ellington Saints, which offers student-artists the opportunity for athletic competition in Basketball, Volleyball, Cheer, Track and much more as part of the Michigan High School Athletics Association (MHSAA).
